Time – I Am Restricted By Lack of Time.

“I don’t have time.” “Where does the time go?” “ There’s not enough time to do it.”  “It will take too long.” How many times have you heard these statements?

You started spending time from the moment you were born. Your time on earth is the most valuable asset you have. Nothing can replace your time. Once you have spent your time, it is gone forever. Unfortunately, the only certainty in life is that your time will run out, and you will die.

Time is a predictable, perishable resource, which is available for you to use to the best of your ability. You are consuming time at a rate of 60 seconds a minute, 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. You can’t change time, stop time, or manage time.

I’m going to let you in on a big secret that successful people known very well. Let’s compare successful people and unsuccessful people. How much time do successful people have? Exactly 24 hours a day. How much time do unsuccessful people have? Exactly 24 hours a day. How much time do you have?  Exactly 24 hours a day. Isn’t that an interesting observation? Everyone has the same amount of time. Yet, some people are successful and some people are not successful.

The secret that successful people know is:

Successful people control their ACTIVITIES.

They use their time to their best advantage.

So, why don’t people use the time they have more effectively? The reason is most people live their lives by habit and routine. We allow others to control our lives. We were never taught how to make the best use of our time. As a result, we waste time, our most precious asset. In fact, we are so wrapped up in habits and routines we often give away large portions of our time, and receive little in return.

Once you spend your time it is gone. Like spending money, spending your time improperly can be a big waste. You may end up getting nothing in return for the time you have spent. Think about the time you spent watching television. Research shows the average person spends about 28 hours a week watching television.  What do you get in return for this time? Not much.

Most employees work 35 to 40 hours a week, or more. In the real estate industry, some people work 50 t0 60 hours a week. What do you get in return for this time? You get nothing unless you make a sale and receive a commission. Yes, you get experience. Yes, you get knowledge. Is it valuable knowledge and valuable experience, or are you just putting in time?
